It's actually pretty rare for a version to feature RUBY slipper AND shoe loss, since that's more of something that happens with more book faithful versions, which use the original silver shoes.

I've also seen a few stage play versions online that have both (most of whose links are long since deleted, unfortunately)
In terms of Movies the only ones I can think of that have loss are the Turkish version and the Live action Russian Volkov one
And of course, a handful of cartoon versions.

My guess would be hit by car. That's usually what results in single shoe loss in Anime. If it was suicide, she'd be missing BOTH shoes. (since people in Japan usually take their shoes off before jumping, so as not to dirty the rail)

Hilda Season 2 Episode 9: The Deerfox
Hilda tries escaping from a wolf and as she dives, the wolf gets a piece of her boot and rips it off leaving her in one white sock and one boot for a little bit (toward the 2/3 mark of the episode).
Disenchantment Season 3
So in season one, the lead princess lost her boots to a sticky floor, had a few tease scenes where her foot was grabbed while escaping. Then in season 2, more boot grab teases. Nothing of note came from the latest trailer but on the new poster, it shows her hanging on to a rope to a blimp and missing one of her boots. Seems like this could be the season her boot finally gets pulled off after all these close calls. |
Damn I can't believe that this shoe loss prediction came true. I guess that somebody in the writer's room really wants Bean to be barefoot.

Actually, Bean lost her boot no less than THREE times in this season, and was in one boot for EXTENDED periods in two cases.

The manga has an EXTENDED single shoe bit in one volume (don't remember which, unfortunately) The other girl (the young looking one) stores C4 in her sneakers and kicks one off to use it as a bomb. She remains in one sneaker for several pages until she does the same thing with the other one.

Found one more anime one (well two more, but you said you only wanted ones where the characters were over 18 so I'll leave the other one out)
Beastars Episode 9 "A Sharp Divide"
Haru the rabbit loses one of her black Mary Janes when she is kidnapped by the Shishigumi. There are some good shots of her in one shoe during her time in the hideout (though oddly, there are also quite a number of shots there where she still has both shoes on)

Found the comic version. Interestingly it has only ONE one shoe picture, making it even less than the anime

True but given that her original costume's shoes were just felt booties, I would question if they had the weight to pull off the trick in this scene (then again given that these boots just seem to be floppy cloth as well, I question how it worked in THIS version)
