Well, trying to differentiate EVERYTHING would be a little hard (after all there are hundreds of types of shoes in the world) but I can try and cover the ones I have mentioned so far, and update as things come up

In the US "mary jane" is a term for what one might think of as the standard old time girls shoe, the kind with a (usually single strap) that goes over the instep). The shoe on my avatar character (if you can see it) is a Mary Jane. to secure the shoe to the foot. While this style is extremely ancient (there are examples going back to the middle ages) the name comes from a character in the Buster Brown comic strip who wore this style, as did buster brown himself (they were orignally considered a unisex shoe style and even today there are places in the world where boys wearing them is not entierly unsual (techically they are REQUIRED for full formal dress for young boys say, a ringbearer at a formal wedding.)) the name is techically still trademarked (which is why I keep capitalizing it.) I was merely pointing out that the shoe the girl was wearing in the clip had no strap, so it was tecnically not a mary jane.

Saddle shoes are a type of oxford, which is a leather shoe with laces and a rounded toe (if the toe is more pointed, it becomes a wingtip) a saddle shoe differs from a standard oxford primarily in having an additional "saddle" of extra leather sown over the middle of the shoe (as well as a smaller piece sown over the seam in the back). This saddle can be the same color as the rest of the shoe but is usally a different one. Most commonly the base shoe is white and the saddle is black, brown or blue. This style existed since at least the 1920's but is most closely associated with the 1950's. being a popular school shoe at the time.
There is a similar type of shoe called a spectator that is sort of a "reverse" saddle shoe (though a pump with the same pattern is also called a spectator, where the addional added leather pieces are over the toe and back ,not the middle.
Technically loafers ARE considered a moccasin in the same way saddle shoes are considered oxfords (and tecnically mary janes are classified as sandals, since they use a strap to be secured. Though most people only use the word sandal to describe shoes that are all straps and have open toes, so by those standards Mary Janes would not count). If there is a difference now, it's probably that loafers tend to be stiffer and have a harder sole.
Similarly, pumps are a subset of heels. Tecnially any shoes that have a raised hell are heels (though used on its own, heels almost invariably means high heeled shoes. "pumps" is a little more ambiguos. Some people use it as a synonym for heels, and make it apply to all heeled shoes. Others are more restrictive and classify a pump as being a shoe (usually high heeled, but not neccecarily) which has NO securing devices (straps, laces etc.) and relys soley on tightness to keep it on the foot.
That's the best I can do for now. I suggest you simpy go on a seach engine, flip over to the image seach, put any terms you dont understand in, and then look at the pictures that come up. They should do a far better job of showing you the differences than my explanations ever could.

Old one I remembered
The Nanny "Personal Business" (appx 3:36)

Oddly, Fran makes a mistake here. As the girls black shoe has no strap, it is technically a skimmer, not a Mary Jane.)

Most likely it will, especially since the creator says in the opening that the item of clothing lost does not necessarily have to be a shoe to count in his definition of the trope, and half the examples there already don't. Also I'm not sure the Geronimo Stilton example counts. I found a free stream of the episode, and it looks like the clue has to do with Geroniomo simply realize the woman has struggles by the marks left by her boots, she doesn't lose either of them. At least I think that's what he says. The only free stream I could find was in Russian, which I don't speak. Later at the very end of the cartoon we see her cutting a ribbon on the re-opened T.U.F.F. building and she still has a pump on one foot which is about the only part of her that isn't in a cast (nomally I don't count people in cases as being single shoe candidates, but since the cast she has on has toes, it probably does in this case.)

Another interesting note in one of the new episodes yesterday

In the segment "Bad Eggs" there is a bit near the end where Kitty is dressed as a baby, and is barefoot. While this is not really a shoe loss, one can note that the animators drew her feet much smaller and more human than they normally do (and I mean seriously human, they look like human feet in opaque hose). This is probably simply the result of a new animation staff no knowing Kitty's feet are in fact more or less the same size as Dudley's when she isn't wearing her boots, but you never know

I noticed that last week as well, that the new outfit she apparantly got from the clothes horse included fresh footwear. It's actually a little odd, since presumably she still needs somewhere to keep the gems, and it presumably takes a fairly long time to hollow out a hole in a leather/wooden boot heel, far longer than the few hours she had while the knave was asleep. Remember it's not just a matter of making a hole, she has to do it in a manner where she can still walk on it without the boot heel collapsing under her (my best guess is that she used a strong off center nail, that would keep the heel in place when she was walking and still let her pivot it like she did). My only guess is that, now that she has informed the Knave that stealing the wishes is pointless (they wont work unless given) she no longer feels any need to keep them concealed, and is just keeping them in her pocket now.
Actually it's a bit odd she had them in the first place. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain that, even back then, residents of insane asylums would not be allowed to have lace up boots (for fear of them using the laces to hang themselves) let alone whatever sort of sharp implement she would have needed to make the hole.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland

The first episode of this show last Thursday had several interesting scenes. A key part of the plot of this show is a trio of wishes (in the form of red gems) that Alice received from Cyrus the Genie, and which she keeps in a secret compartment in the heel of one of her boots. In the first episode there Alice takes her boots off so she can climb a tree (leaving her boots lying around for the Knave of hearts to steal) She later has an extended scene in the tree with the Cheshire Cat, which includes numerous close ups of her socked feet) The knave does eventually give her her boots back and she puts them back on. However the fact that the gems are kept there means that it is probably worth tracking this show, as I feel it is likely Alice is going to lose her boots/ have them stolen many times as the show progresses.

More Loss on Phineas and Ferb, and FINALLY it's Isabella.

In tonight's episode Druselstinaween". There is a costume party, and Isabella dresses as Cinderella. After making a comment to Phineas about "if I lose a slipper you know where to find me" she deliberately kicks one of her shoes off in Phineas's direction (who is walking away and ignores it) I then lands in the punch bowl from which Isabella fishes it out. In the next scene she walks by some of the others and the shoe she fished out is still in her hand, not on her food. A bit later she kicks a shoe at Phineas again only to have in ignore it again. I wasn't paying attention enough to see if this was the same shoe or the other one. However it probably was the other one, as a little later Phineas notices Isabella looking sad on the edge of the dance floor and when he asks why she says she's run out of shoes (to which Phineas replies it is more fund to dance barefoot anyway, kicks off his own shoes, and dances with her).
Oh and this episode also has scenes of Vanessa in her shoe closet with a lot of pairs of shoes, and while in her Vampire Queen costumes, in black pumps (almost all of the the girls at the party are dressed as vampire queens, but I think she is the only one in heels, all of the others (Candace included) are in flats.)
Edit
No a actual loss but last night episode of Sword Art Online had a nice scene. Near the end of the episode (around 19:29) there is a scene where Asuna having just had finished a meal with Krito, walks over to the window turns off the lights and then pushes a few buttons on her status bar, which cause her boots to disappear followed by the rest of her clothes (because she interpreted Kirito's request to spend the night at her house as a request to sleep with her) Besides having a nice closeup of her feet there is a nice little touch in that, when her boots disappear, Asuna is actuall hovering briefly, since her boots had raised heels and thick soles

Another Bleach one. Tonight's episode (314) had a woman who lost one of her shoes after she was killed by a hollow (the episode had two close ups of her empty shoe and shoeless foot). There was also a missed shoe loss opportunity as another female character tried to jump off a bridge and when she was stopped I really sort of hoped one of her brown pumps would either be knocked off or fall into the water.

From a Japanese stage Oz production. While there is no shoe loss in the witch scene there is a short clip of Dorothy putting the silver shoes on around 1:53http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBOrgtJG7_4
Also note that, as is not at all uncommon in Japanese productions, Dorothy's Kansas shoes are red (so you get silver shoes AND ruby slippers). You'll see a LOT of red shoes in Japanese fairy tale productions (I have a theory as to why that is so)

And another pic for batmad, sailor moon mid transformation http://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/1377983?tags=single_shoe

Well, the condition of being half shod already has an official word (monosandalos) and has since the Ancient Greeks and so I've always used the word "monosandalist" to describe us. But as far as I know no current word exists for the study of the reasons why a person would lose a shoe, so I'm cool with your suggestion there.

Few more videos

Another Volkov adaptation (40:00 or so)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8c4PIDmwhLU

A video tribute to the Volkov book. While not all that interesting per se, it does have a picture of the melting scene from the ORIGINAL 1938 version of the book which is super rare (the version most people are familiar with is the 1965 reprint with the Illustrations by Leonid Vladimirsky)(appx 00:43) Vladimirsky version appears second (and does include the melting scene, followed by so pic from the Chizikov version (unfortunately the melt scene from that one isn't show, Pity. It's a very good one)

While it isn't a shoe loss ,tonight's Teen Titans Go! episode (Terra-rized) has something interesting. One of the noticeable things about the character designs on this shoe is that a lot of them have odd little designs on the bottom of their shoes. Beast Boy of course, has an animal paw print (he had that all the way back in the last version), Starfire has a star on the bottom of her boots which we have seen a few times as well. Well near the end of this episode Raven is sitting on the arm of the sofa, and we can see that she too has a design on the bottom of her boots, a skull. Robin and Cyborg presumably don't since both of them have footwear with thick corrugated metal soles (so no where for a design to be).

oh and this showed up today in one of the cracked polls

And another Scooby Doo one (sorry no clip, it's too new)

Scooby Doo: Stage Fright

At one point in the movie (probably around the hour mark) There is a scene that takes place in the Gangs Hotel Room. Velma is sitting on the bed (which is pretty common) However unlike most of the times when they do this, she has her shoes off (actually it looks like there is a little continuity goof. In the first shot for a far distance, it looks like she may have her shoes on, but in the close-up they are clearly off) A few seconds later, there is a shot of Daphne lying on the bed (she was merely leaning on it in the first shot) and she is also shoeless (she even does one of those kicking her feet back and forth things) also shortly thereafter there are a few scenes of Velma and Daphne in the middle of the night in their nightclothes, and again no shoes. Daphne is barefoot, Velma has on socks (which seem to be different than the ones she wears normally)

A link I WAS able to track down was a better segment of the "Behind the Doo" I posted all that time back (the one where I said Velma was either dangling or missing one shoe) This must have been on a wider screen than the version I saw since there is more picture, enough to see she is clearly dangling (appx 00:1Cool
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZM_VvkHY3Q

Correction:

I replayed the movie scene and Daphne is in fact lying ON the bed (not leaning on it ) upside down (feet towards pillows) and is in fact shoeless through the whole scene. As for the ambiguity, this is due to the fact that when we first see Velma sitting Indian style on the bed there is a darkish division about halfway down the bottom of her left foot. This sort of looks like the line dividing the heel of her shoe from the rest of the sole, but given that she has a computer on her lap, it could just as easily be a shadow, or even part of her sock (As I said Velma appears to wear different socks to sleep in that her day to day ones, the sleep ones seem to be brown, with reinforced toes.)
