I would also suggest as a general rule of thumb when posting to make note of where the image came from. Much as I have come to realize that some servers used have a problem displaying images sourced through Danbooru (so if I want to show a pic from there, it is usually a good idea to copy it to my Snapfish or Photobucket account first.) quite a few of the video links (especially the anime ones) are not playable by me (and I would assume, by others) because they are on sites that are not compatible with our systems, or require downloading their OWN streaming software first, which I won't do (this isn't really my computer so I don't download ANYTHING to it permanently, and I am just paranoid enough to realize that a GREAT way for a person to get malware or a spybot onto your system would be to hide it in something you HAD to download to make a video streaming program work. )

I agree a wikia might come in handy (though to keep the problem from re-occurring it would probably be a good idea to arrange it alphabetically (after dividing by genre) since if we do it by how long ago it was posted, we'll basically have the same problem we have now.) But it has to be somewhere where it is pretty open (i.e. not a Yahoo! group) Most of our members start out as guests and we want to make sure that future ones can wander around and decide they want to be here rather than scaring them off by demanding they register just to even SEE anything that's posted. We are a community not a private club.

There's also the fact that a large number of the early links were actually already dead (or in a form my computer wasn't/isn't able to understand) before I even joined. So every now and then I see something I THINK hasn't been posted, becauseI never saw here.

Maybe By now the list has gotten so long (and so full of dead links) that repetitions are probably inevitable

Diebuster a.k.a. Gunbuster 2, Aim for the Top!, Episode 1

Nono (the main character) loses one of her heeled Mary Janes when a space pilot picks her up in his Buster's arms and shakes her. She remains in one shoe for about the next 19 minutes (with her stocking getting progressively more torn), until losing the other one when she is caught on the outside of the buster as it blasts off.

Link below (shoe loss starts around 10:00)

Warning! do NOT watch this if you are at work or if you do, stop it after the second shoe loss. By the end of the episode Nono is not merely barefoot but bare breasted. She is "Topless" in the literal sense! (as well as in the sense the word is used within the series)

Teen Titans Go! "Salty Codgers"

At the end of the episode when the now aged Titans return as zombies, ALL of them (except Raven of course) are missing one shoe (well technically Starfire is only missing the bottom of one boot but you get what I mean)

Regular Show "Real Date"

Near the end of this episode, CJ goes "cloud" again to fight the person attacking Mordechai. As with the last time he shoes (along with the rest of her clothes) are left behind. Unlike last time, when she coalesces back; she no longer has them (presumably they got lost when the dock exploded.)

Gravity Falls S2E2 "The Bunker"

At the beginning of the episode, Wendy is lying on Dipper's bed with dipper, watching bad movies, and she has her boots off, revealing yellow socks with orange clocks and toes.

Last Sunday I saw a pretty extreme example of a FALSE shoe loss situation

Yugioh Zexal Episode 32 "The Friendship games"

The opening of this episode has all three of the major female characters going at each other in an all out catfight (ironic since one of them does dress like a catgirl) During this fight there are a lot of school uniform shoes in hands and flying all over the place (including one actually hitting Yuma in the face). All well and good except for one thing at no point in the fight are ANY of the characters actually missing their shoes (I ran the whole scene through again in slow-mo and in all cases where the girl's feet are in shot, they have both shoes on). Cheat!

(P.S. Yes, I know there is a legitimate shoe loss coming a little further on down the series line, but let's wait on that until it comes)

Now onto a little picture find. I managed to snag this last week on Rinkya

This is OK in it's own right, but particularly interesting in it nature. It's the fist Time I've ever seen a book of Western Mother Goose rhymes that was clearly for children and ENTIRELY in Japanese. I've seen other Japanese Mother Goose books before (like the Youchan Betty Blue)
or the Osamu Goods version
but those have all been Bilingual which sort of makes sense since most of them are to practice English fluency. Add on the fact that, whike I can't confirm this for a few weeks (until the book actually is in my hands) Based on the style this one looks pretty old, like 1960's or 70's which is really before the "western from childhood" thing really took off in Japan. Guess I'll have to wait until I have the book before I can find answers.

That one is the PBS one. But thanks for the link on that one, Forgot about it. That version actually has a second one in the episode about the marbles. Hetty King pulls her new boots off and waves them in her friends faces because they are so absorbed in the marble game they aren't noticing them

edit: it's season 1: episode 20

There's also a shoe loss in the live action Road to Avonlea series. In season 2 episode 1, Sara is kidnapped by some fake Gypsies, who tie her up and throw her in the back of a wagon. Sara notices there is a hole in the bottom of the wagon, and kicks one of her shoes off through it to leave a trail for anyone going after her to find. Unfortunately is isn't as good as it could be. her other foot is not in any of the shots, and later when Matthew catches up with the wagon (only to beshotand tied up himself0) Sara has both shoes again (Matthew picked up the one her found and took it with him, so presumably the kidnapped got if off him put it back on her for some reason.)

Three more

The Amazing World of Gumball, "The Gripes"

Penny's mom takes off her boots in order to give them to Gumball and Darwin, who she thinks are homeless and begging, along with all her money, her wedding ring and her kidney (2:32)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR-K_h4YJ0U

Gravity Falls None in the show so far (at least, no female ones) But there are TWO in the shorts. In the "Dipper's guide to the Unexplained: The Mailbox" Mable is missing one of her shoes after the mailbox self destructs (1:55)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-0OMdOtiW8

And in "Mable's Guide to: Art" Mable is missing one shoe and sock after trying to paint some cats (2:04)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLOerTBYVMA

Probably some sort of odd fasion choice. The Character backstory metions her betting everything (including herself) on a game (and losing, which is why she is now the main character's servant) but since it says everything at once, I can't imagine her betting her other boot previos to this and losing (also, barring some character in the show having a foot or shoe fetish (and there is, to my knowledge no evidence of that) who would make or accept a bet of a single boot (though it does give new meaining to the term "you bet your boots"))and why she wouldn't simply get a new pair. You can use your own imagination. As a perpetually flying character, she really doesn't need shoes after all; not in the sense us earthbound people do.
The best parallel I can give is from a farily short anime I've seen called Haunted Junction This show has no single shoe scenes in it's actual show though ironically 1. The end song for the show includes the line "the day was warm, but part of me still wanted to be unsure, so I took off just one of my shoes" and 2. There IS a one shoe anime MODEL related to the series, based on the Comic book version of the female lead Mutsuki, who is a lot younger and less creepy (the one in the anime has a near terminal case of a shouta complex (basically the female version of a Lolita complex))
But the point I was trying to make is this. In this anime, there is a character called Miss Toilet Hanako who is a rather curvaceous female ghost who haunts one of the boy's bathrooms in the school (no, I'm not going to try explain why, it's really complicated. Just leave it at nearly all ghosts in the show are based on actual Japanese ghost superstitions and there really IS such a thing in thier culture as toilet ghosts (several versions, in fact))
In appearance, Hanako appears as a teenage girl in a full ( if rather tight) school uniform (though not exactly the same one as the students of the school wear now, indicating it may be an older version)
except for the fact she is shoeless. She wears long black stockings (very sheer, Mandrake you'd probably like the depiction a lot g>) but no shoes (not even the white cloth "school" shoes a jot of Japanese students wear inside the school building.)
No one comments on why she doesn't (probably becuse her other "assets" are much more on thier mind) My personal guess is as follows. The character description notes for Hanako say she is the ghost of a schoolgirl who died "tragically". I usually interpret this to mean she comitted suicide. So maybe she jumped off the school roof, which would explain the shoelessness. In Japan, where manners come into everything, it is considered good form to take your shoes off before jumping off the edge of sometihng, so you don't get the edge dirty (I swear I'm not making this up). The ONE time in the whole series we see Hanako wearing shoes is when she is modeling during a costume contest (she has on shoes similar to "school shoes", except they appear to have small heels (school shoes are usually completely flat on the bottom).
In any case here's a link to another WOZ theater shoe loss clip (5:50 on)

another perpetual one shoe character

The Anime No Game No Life contains a character named Jibril, a member of a semi angelic race called the Fluegel. Jibril wears very asymmetrical coverings on her legs which include perpetual single shoeness. she wears a knee high striped stocking and a short brown boot on her right leg, while her left has a white/lavender thigh high stocking and no boot.

Agreed, Good work potk. I am particularly surprised about the Little Princess one; never occurred to me to look in that series. I guess from now on I'll have to keep my eye peeled whenever books from that series show up at Bookoff to see if any of them cover that episode (probably not, but since it looks like they sometimes did board books of selected episodes, I suppose it is theoretically possible.
Incidentally, if the site you found that has some of the rest of the Classic based Anime of that period (my computer is a little old to run that site smoothly, so I can't look myself. There are a couple other ones I remember Sorry I can't provide precise episodes or times but I saw most of these on Japanese VHS, so most either long since sold, broken, or somewhere I can't find them (I suspect some are buried behind the mountain of stuff Mom brought back from Grandma's house, so not retrievable until Mom gets around to sorting that stuff out and moving it (i.e. never))

Heidi, Girl of the Alps- There are two or three shoe losses/removals I remember in this series. In the very first episode there is a scene where the newly arrived Heidi takes off her boots (along with her socks and pretty much all of the rest of her clothing so she can run around the alpine meadows in her underwear. Much later in the series when Clara is in the Alps visiting Heidi and Grandfather is trying to help her learn to walk there is a scene where she and Heidi are rolling around in the grass and Clara is in her stockings (it's hard to noticed because Clara in this version normally wears white boots over her white stockings, so telling whether she has them on or off is really only defined by whether the animators have drawn the line that separates the two (or, for side shots the black buttons up the sides). Finally a few episodes later there is a bit where The rest of the Sessman family is also up in the Alps visiting. At one point, Frau Rottenmeir kicks a stone in pique and her shoe goes along with it,

Akage no An/Anne of Green Gables-In one of the early episodes when Anne has just gotten to Green Gables there is a scene of her taking off her boots as she gets ready for bed. The assembly mini kits from there series also include one model of Anne with her boots off looking out a window, and one of her in the middle of changing her boots for a pair of blue mary jane type shoes for a dance

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer - near the end of this series, in the episode where Tom and Becky are lost in the caves, their is a brief shot of Becky sitting on a rock why tome goes to scout ahead, and for some reason she has removed her brown mary janes

I was a little conflicted including male shoe-loss when it came up that one time, but I felt that it was well outside the scope of the interest of this site so I decided to exclude it from the thread and allow the user to start a separate thread for it.

I also considered limiting the thread to only nylons/sheer socks/stocking pantyhose version but decided against it since it the definitions are sometimes too difficult to discern and it was often too limiting a category. Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts since I think this is the best thread on this forum.

I'd say leave it as open as possible. While all of us may have related interests, that doesn't translate to identical interests. Some come here for one thing, some another. We each have our own turns ons and turn offs. I focus mostly on cartoons/animation in part because I know there are plenty of other people focusing on models/major movies/live action TV. And much as you don't want this thread to turn into a mirror of Droppedits (though, since that thread seems to be being updated less and less frequently, there will probably come a time when we will have to take over as a successor when that thread collapses) I don't want it to turn into a clone of the Yahoo! one shoe group either (especially that rule about needing to supply fresh material constantly in order to stay a member, Encouraging people to contribute is fine, but setting a constant quota to keep being able to see the stuff is just asking for trouble.). And neither of those threads is all that keen on animation/anime (at least I know Droppedits isn't I'm not a member of the yahoo group, mostly BECAUSE of that quota thing.)

I'm pretty sure Anais only wears socks.

I agree they look like socks, but she as actually called them shoes at some point (In the Job I think0 so I assume they are supposed to be booties of some sort.

Tonight's episode, "The Puppy", Had another shoe loss scene with Anais (an unequivocal one this time). Near the middle, the kids are explain to Richard why they should no longer be in charge of the turtle he got them. The are again wearing the "business" attire the had on at the beginning of the episode, only now it is wrecked (by the turtles attacks) Amongst the damage, Anais is now missing one of her pumps (and Darwin is now missing one of his oxfords)
