There also may be a cultural advantage. If Korea is anything like Japan, it is considered preferable to, if possible, slip out of your shoes without having to touch them with your hands. Hence a bias in favor of shoes that slip off easily.

I got those videos from Douyin, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok. The only way to download it is to switch to the Chinese appstore/playstore. After my favourite users stopped being active, I deleted it. I still have a few videos I am yet to post, though sadly no more of this type.

I was watching Star Wars Visions, it's a series a of short anime episodes set in the Star Wars universe. So far I haven't seen a shoe loss but this scene caught my eye:
