  Romancing The Stone Poster

Here's a poster from the film, Romancing The Stone. The artwork CLEARLY shows Kathleen Turner having lost one shoe while hanging onto Michael Douglas' back on that vine. The scene is taken almost one to one from the film where Turner's foot plunges through a rotted board on a bridge. You can see her foot coming out from her pump as this happens and you think,"Okay. Here comes the shoe loss." But it never happens! In fact she NEVER loses a shoe the whole while she's lost in the jungle in her pumps. I had a thread some years ago called Shoe Teasers where a woman is in a situation where you're sure she is going to lose a shoe, but she never does, even though there is no logical way her shoe can stay on her foot. Anyway here is an example of a Shoe Teaser. Enjoy the "what could have/should have been."

PS: What annoys even more is that Turner later did a film called V.I. Warshawski where she has a very extended one shoe sequence, so she was not a stranger to one shoe scenes.

One shoe scene in V.I. Warshawski is classic!
